Founded in 1972, in the island of Madeira, the Pestana Hotel Group is the largest international hotel group of Portuguese origin. With a journey of more than four decades of success, the Group owns and manages 87 units in Portugal and abroad, and also six golf courses, two casinos, three tourism real estate projects, 13 Vacation Club projects, a charter airline and a tour operator. In industrial manufacture and services, Dionisio Pestana's group participates in Madeira's Development Society, the manager of Madeira's International Business Center, and in the Brewery Company of Madeira.
In total, there are nine business areas in which it operates: hotel industry, golf, casinos, touristic real estate, aviation, tourism distribution, Vacation Club, industrial manufacture and services.
In the hotel industry, its main business, the Group currently operates three brands: Pestana Hotels & Resorts, Pestana Collection Hotels and Pestana Pousadas de Portugal, whose network management it took over in 2003.
The Pestana Hotel Group recently announced a partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo to build a set of 4 hotels under a new brand, which will be the 4th of the Group. Present in 15 countries, it has about 11,500 rooms available in Europe, Africa and America and a team of seven thousand employees. In 2015 revenues reached 400 million Euros.

PESTANA HOTEL GROUP

Pestana hotel Group welcomes a new luxury hotel located on the Amsteldijk with 154 rooms, various meeting & venue spaces and a luxurious Spa, also long stay serviced apartments are available.


The role

If you are not familiar with the role already, please find below a summary of the main responsibilities of the Events Coordinator role:
Develops close relationships with customers, while optimising revenueEnsures a high standard of service for customers for the meetings and events offerWelcomes customers and helps foster loyaltyEnsures that the event runs smoothlyHas a thorough knowledge of the hotel's seminars and meetings offer, and the pricing terms and conditionsDraws up instructions for the event and sends them to every department involvedMaintains good relations with the other hotel departments (rooms, food & beverage, kitchen, technical team etc)Manages and updates the customer databaseTakes part in preparing and optimising occupancy schedules for meeting roomsEnsures that services are of a high standard and checks they comply with the specifications set up with the customerDraws up a post-event qualitative report with the customer to find out where improvements can be made Makes optimal use of tools such as meeting@, etcMakes suggestions for sales initiatives while respecting the pricing policy and the hotel and brand's proceduresFollows up sales and marketing actions for his/her sectorMonitors competition in the local area
